I have no idea how old your comment is. As of Feb 2026, Bob D is alive and 84 (10 years more than me). Very sorry the Traveling Wilburys never performed. Love Dylan’s writing and a lot of his recordings. Never wanted to actually see him perform based on film and video of him.
Sorry for the very late response. I create a new chart withing 48 hours of the Sumo Association releasing it. You can see these dates here: https://www.sumo.or.jp/EnTicket/year_schedule/
I create the results chart within 48 hours of the tournament ending.
I first went to Japan for business in 1978 (I was 26), visiting Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. I dealt with many Japanese electronics manufacturers in my career. I have a huge respect for the culture. I’ve been following Sumo since around 1993, when PBS in Boston started airing the 25 min news program “Today in Japan” from NHK at 11:30 PM. The charts started in early 2018.
I wish I could’ve traveled to Nihon back when I was younger. This July will be my first trip and I’m taking my teenage sons to the July Basho in Nagoya. What a way to enjoy our first trip to the land of the rising sun. Go Aonishiki!!

Hi Fred,
Thank you so much for creating these awesome charts. I’m getting my younger son (16 yrs old) into sumo and these chart are super helpful.
I have a question for you > when will you release the new rank chart showing the new rankings after the July Basho?
Thanks again!
Oscar
